Former Cleveland player Grady Sizemore keeps making strides around the game. His playing days may be over, but he’s staying involved.
According to Guardians Prospective, the former All-Star outfielder will join the Minnesota Twins’ coaching staff under new manager Derek Shelton.
Sizemore will serve as the first base coach.

He will also reportedly serve as the primary baserunning and outfield instructor. Ramon Borrego, the former first base coach, will move to third base, while also working with their infielders.
Sizemore is quite familiar with the Twins, but he may not be a fan favorite. He used to face the AL Central rivals as an opponent throughout his career.
He made three consecutive All-Star teams and won one Silver Slugger and two Gold Gloves in a four-year span for Cleveland. Unfortunately, injuries ultimately got the best of him, and he missed time with elbow, knee and back injuries.
After his final season in 2015, Sizemore eventually returned to the game as an intern for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He later joined the Chicago White Sox’s coaching staff and was a candidate to be the team’s full-time manager after taking over during the 2024 season.
The Twins are hoping that an overhaul in the dugout will be what the team needs to get back on track. Of course, Guardians hope that won’t be the case.
