Cleveland Guardians prospect Chase DeLauter is tearing up the Arizona Fall League.
Nobody should be surprised about this: he tore up Double-A after he was fully healthy, and finished 2024 at the doorstep of the majors, playing for Triple-A Columbus.
It is precisely because of the injuries he suffered, a fractured foot and a strained hamstring, that he missed so much time and is making up for it in the AFL.
The Guards are just happy to see him healthy, but excellent performance is a bonus and DeLauter has been shining in the prospects circuit.
In fact, he was selected for the AFL All Star team according to Guardians Prospective.
“Cleveland #Guardians 23yr old OF prospect Chase DeLauter has been selected to participate in the 2024 Arizona Fall League Fall-Stars game,” he posted on X.

DeLauter’s status is worth monitoring, as he was substituted late on Tuesday’s game.
Still, there is nothing to report as of yet so we have to assume he is healthy.
If that’s indeed the case, prospects evaluators and fans will be able to watch his incredible ability to play baseball in the All-Star Game.
As of Wednesday morning, DeLauter is hitting .324 with a .977 OPS in the AFL.
Not bad at all.
Throughout three levels this year (Rookie ball, Double-A and Triple-A), DeLauter hit .261/.341/.500 with a solid .841 OPS.
He did all this after missing many games due to his injuries.
If DeLauter has better luck with his health next year, it’s easy to see him being called up to MLB and receiving his first chance at winning the right field job no later than June.
He is the future in Cleveland.
