The Cleveland Guardians need everybody to get it together.
They’re struggling mightily at the plate, scoring just three runs in 37 innings.
That’s why they also need to get as much as they can from their starting pitchers.
With that in mind, franchise legend Carlos Baerga went out of his way to have Tanner Bibee’s back.
“I know we want to be better, but thank God we have Gavin Williams stepping up and doing a great job for us, but [Tanner Bibee’s] the man. He’s the one they count on, that’s why they gave him that contract,” Baerga said.

Bibee, who received a contract extension this offseason, hasn’t been at his best this season.
Following an inconsistent first half, he vowed to take things up a notch after the All-Star break, but that hasn’t been the case.
Bibee was visibly frustrated in a recent loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, and the TV broadcast caught him yelling and looking emotional in the dugout during the game.
Manager Stephen Vogt defended Bibee and called him one of the most competitive players he’s ever been around.
Of course, that type of fire is necessary to thrive in this game, so long as it doesn’t get the best of the player or his teammates.
Bibee was expected to be the team’s ace this season, at least until Shane Bieber got back on the mound.
Now, with Bieber traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, even more is being expected of Bibee, who can be dominant when he’s at his best.
