The Cleveland Guardians need someone to step up at the plate.
They’re getting little to no offense from players not named Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan.
That’s why former team star Carlos Baerga wants to see more from the team’s designated hitter.
In the latest edition of his show, Baerga put David Fry on notice and urged him to get out of his slump:
“I think we need more offense from Fry. We need to get Fry going,” Baerga said.
Carlos thinks unlocking David Fry is the key to the Guards' offense. #GuardsBall

Fry finally contributed on offense in the team’s latest outing.
He had a solo homer in Monday’s 7-5 win over the Houston Astros.
Notably, that solo blast helped Stephen Vogt’s team snap a worrisome 10-game losing streak.
Fry has served as the team’s designated hitter against southpaws.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t been much of a factor just yet.
He’s hit just .153 since being reinstated from the 60-day Injured List (IL), going 9 for 59 with five RBI and three home runs in 26 games.
Since he’s recovering from offseason Tommy John surgery, Fry won’t be able to play the field at all this season.
That could make the Guardians consider moving on from him as the trade deadline approaches.
Of course, he’s a fan favorite, and he’s proven to be much better than he is right now.
Even so, the Guardians look ready to go through a bit of a panic sale after free-falling since June.
The team looks far from a contending side, mostly because of their offensive struggles.
And while Fry certainly has left a lot to be desired, it will take more than just one player to save this team.
