The Cleveland Guardians’ biggest reinforcement came from one of their own free agents.
More than that, Shane Bieber’s decision to stay with the organization was a testament to the great work they’re doing.
At least, that’s how Andre Knott feels.
Talking on ESPN Cleveland, the renowned analyst pointed out that Bieber chose to run it back on a short-term deal in Cleveland because he believes in the direction the team is going.
When will we see Shane Bieber back on the mound? @DreKnott is calling his shot with June 10…

As pointed out by Knott, he could’ve joined the Detroit Tigers and made more money there.
He could’ve also joined a juggernaut like the Boston Red Sox and signed a multi-year contract there.
His decision to stay and continue playing for Stephen Vogt is a testament to what they’re doing.
Bieber underwent Tommy John surgery, and he will be out until early June at the very least.
His return will be a huge boost to this ailing rotation.
And while banking hopes on a player to be back to his former self right after going under the knife is a risky gamble, it might pay off big time for this organization.
When he’s at his best, Bieber is one of the best hurlers in the game, and he would instantly reclaim his spot as the alpha dog in the rotation.
Hopefully, Knott is right with his theory, and Bieber will be just the first domino to fall in a long list of strong moves by the front office in the next couple of years.
