The Cleveland Guardians were swept in Cincinnati and had lost the finale of the Milwaukee Brewers series before that.
That means they have now lost four games in a row after a positive stretch.
As a result, they have lost some ground in the battle for the AL Central.
Right now, they are third in the division and have been surpassed by the Minnesota Twins in addition to the Detroit Tigers.
As it turns out, the Guardians will get a chance to make up for some of that lost ground in the upcoming week, as they will face their AL Central nemeses.
“Next 10 for the #Guardians will be quite the litmus test…3 with the Minnesota Twins, 4 with the Detroit Tigers, 3 with the Los Angeles Dodgers,” Nick Camino posted on X.

Of course, life has granted Cleveland an opportunity to get closer to the aforementioned squads, but there is also a chance they have a bad week and are left with a big deficit in the standings.
Right now, the Tigers lead the way with a 31-16 record.
Five games behind, we see the Twins (26-21), winners of nine of their last 10.
The Guards are third at 25-21.
This upcoming stretch will require their A-game: they can’t afford to lose the majority of the matchups and keep staying behind.
Both the Tigers and Twins are divisional opponents, which makes them all must-win games.
As if that wasn’t enough, Cleveland will get the National League’s top squad, the Los Angeles Dodgers, at home after the grueling AL Central road trip.
This upcoming stretch will test the Guardians’ depth, star power, and resolve.
