The Cleveland Guardians continue their strong push for an AL playoff berth.
They dropped the finale of a four-game series against the Minnesota Twins, but they won the first three.
They’ve been one of the best teams in baseball this month, and analyst Daryl Ruiter recently made a bold prediction about their postseason future.
“The Guardians are gonna win the division. They’re not gonna need the wild card. They’re going to overtake the [Detroit] Tigers, who have completely fallen apart down the stretch here. They’re gonna overtake the Tigers and win the division. There’s a good chance we might see Cleveland and Detroit in that Wild Card round. The Guardians are gonna make the postseason,” Ruiter said.

Truth be told, that seems feasible right now.
The Tigers are struggling mightily, and after the Guardians recently swept them, they will play another three-game series against each other in the final week.
A sweep, or taking at least two out of three, will be crucial to Cleveland’s playoff aspirations.
The Guardians are tied with the Houston Astros for the third AL Wild Card and are one game behind Detroit in the AL Central.
All the pressure is on the Tigers during the final days of the season, while the Guardians are riding all the momentum.
The Cleveland pitching staff has been lights out during this latest stretch, and the offense has been good enough.
It was almost impossible to think of this a couple of months ago, but barring a late-season debacle, the Guardians have a real chance to make the playoffs as a division champion.
