The Cleveland Guardians’ season is showing signs of circling the drain after a 6-0 loss on Sunday completed a sweep at the hands of the Seattle Mariners and dropped the team to .500 following a fourth consecutive series loss.
Cleveland’s offense has been a disaster and has scored more than four runs in a game only once in June, which is a big reason why one analyst believes the team could potentially shop two star players at the trade deadline if things don’t improve in the coming weeks.
On Monday’s episode of Afternoon Drive on 92.3 The Fan, Nick Wilson said that as badly as he and other Guardians fans want to trade Steven Kwan or Emmanuel Clase, “neither of those guys can be untouchable” given the current state of the team.
"There is not an ounce in our bodies that want them to trade (Steven Kwan or Emmanuel Clase)…but, neither of those guys can be untouchable."

Kwan and Clase are both just 27 years old, and as great as they are, it wouldn’t be too tough to justify filling in for them if they were shipped elsewhere.
Clase hasn’t been the same pitcher this year that he was in years past, and Cade Smith could step right into the closer’s role if Clase was traded.
Kwan has turned into an outstanding player, but the Guardians’ top eight prospects according to MLB.com’s rankings are all position players, so if the Guardians can get a strong return for an outfielder who has yet to post an OPS over .800 in a full season, it’s something they would have to consider.
It’s still unlikely either of these two gets dealt, but if the Guardians keep losing, anything could be on the table.
