After slashing .282/.321/.409 last season with the Cleveland Guardians, infielder Amed Rosario has managed to improve in 2022.
That improvement hasn’t been huge, or particularly significant, but it means he is a better hitter now and the Guards will take it.
So far in 2022, he is slashing .295/.332/.410 and has a .741 OPS.
The number was .731 last year.
When Rosario has an inspired game, it shows in the box score: he is one of a handful of players with a minimum of 10 three-hit games this year.
“Players with at least 10 three-hit games this year: Freddie Freeman, Xander Bogaerts, Amed Rosario, Tim Anderson, Luis Arraez, Paul Goldschmidt, Manny Machado, Ty France,” Seattle Mariners reporter Daniel Kremer tweeted.

That’s some good company right there: it’s full of hitters who can put the bat on the ball, and some of the best sluggers in MLB, too.
Rosario Compensates His Lack Of Power With Good Contact Ability
Rosario is no slugger, he only has four homers: however, he has shown he has MLB-caliber ability to make consistent contact with the ball.
The next phase of his development should be inflicting more damage with the contact he makes, but that’s easier said than done.
He has shown he is an above-average hitter, by wRC+.
The wRC+ stat rates hitters using 100 as the average value.
Rosario has a 110 wRC+, which means he has been 10 percent better than the league average.
Since he also made huge strides with the glove at shortstop, he is now a complete player.
His future in the organization is very much in doubt, however, as Cleveland has lots of middle infield depth.
They could use Rosario as trade bait.
We will find out within the next few days.
