The Cleveland Guardians have always taken pride in their farm system, and rightfully so.
They entered this season with several potential call-ups, most of whom have dominated in the minors.
While everybody talks about Travis Bazzana and Chase DeLauter, another young man has also turned plenty of heads this season.
Now, he’s officially a top-100 prospect.
As reported by MLB Pipeline on X, C.J. Kayfus has now cracked the top 100 after Agustin Ramirez graduated, and it was about time he got that kind of recognition.

Most insiders and analysts expect DeLauter to get the nod at some point this season, but once again, his struggles with injuries may have delayed those plans.
He’s currently working on getting back to full strength after returning to Triple-A Columbus, but Kayfus’ recent performances may have given him the edge in the race to get to the Majors.
Kayfus began the season at Double-A Akron and dominated with a .364/.475/.591 slash line, one home run, and 11 RBI in 80 plate appearances.
It didn’t take long before he was promoted to Triple-A Columbus, as he was clearly wasting his time in Akron.
There, he’s posted a 315/.392/.539 slash line with four home runs and 13 RBI over 102 plate appearances.
Kayfus has always been known for his power.
He had 17 home runs, 92 RBI, and a .904 OPS in 481 plate appearances in his first year in the minors.
Jhonkensy Noel and Nolan Jones have struggled at the dish this season, so it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see Stephen Vogt give Kayfus a call sooner rather than later.
