The Cleveland Guardians need as much help on offense as they can get right now.
Likewise, that’s also why they couldn’t afford to have players lacking confidence at the plate.
That’s why they demoted young SS Brayan Rocchio to get his groove back and work on some things at Triple-A Columbus.
And as shown by Guardians Prospective on X, that has worked like a charm so far.
Cleveland #Guardians 24yr old switch-hitting (SS) Brayan Rocchio crushes a 437 foot 2-run HR tonight for Columbus 104.8 mph off the bat.
For Rocchio he now has 10 XBH including 4 HR's and an .895 OPS in just 17 games with the Clippers. #GuardsBall pic.twitter.com/Mr2i46f5pR

The 24-year-old shortstop had an impressive outing on Saturday night, crushing a 437-foot two-run homer for the Clippers.
That gave him 10 extra-base hits (including four dingers) and a .895 OPS in 17 appearances at Columbus this season.
That’s quite an encouraging sign, as Rocchio was struggling vastly in both aspects of the game before being sent back to the Minors.
Stephen Vogt’s team demoted him to the Clippers earlier in May after he hit just .169 with eight RBI.
He struck out 35 times in 102 trips to the plate.
To add insult to injury, Rocchio was also struggling on defense, committing a league-worst six errors in just 35 games, which was half as many as he committed during the entire 2024 season.
The Guardians still have high hopes and expectations for him, as they should.
He’s a promising player with a lot of untapped potential.
Sometimes, all you need is a change of scenery to take some pressure off and get back to basics.
If he continues to play with this kind of confidence, it shouldn’t be long before the team gives him another chance to prove his worth.
