After a rough stretch of games, the Cleveland Guardians completed a sweep of the Chicago White Sox.
Much tougher tests lie ahead, but the Guardians did what they had to do to open their home schedule.
They did it with the help of one of their most valuable hitters and players, as Steven Kwan is getting hot at the right time.
Cleveland’s offense has been heavily criticized since the start of the season.
If there is a path toward success and redemption, it starts with the leadoff hitter producing elite numbers.
“Cleveland Guardians Steven Kwan collected four hits and drove in four runs today (4-5 2R HR 4RBI) vs. the White Sox including his 2nd HR of the season. Kwan is currently hitting .356 with a .931 OPS on the year through 12 games,” Guardians Prospective wrote on X.

Kwan is no stranger to hot starts.
He flirted with a .400 batting average for weeks last season.
After going 4-for-5 with his second home run of the season, Kwan saw his batting average rise to .356, one of the best marks in the American League.
Kwan getting on base is excellent news for Jose Ramirez, Carlos Santana, Kyle Manzardo and the rest of the Guardians offense.
He is the heartbeat of the lineup and is rounding into form at the most opportune time.
