The Cleveland Guardians haven’t gotten off to the most promising of starts in the MLB season.
Of course, it’s still early to sound the alarm, and there’s more than enough time to get back on track in the season.
When asked about that, former star Kenny Lofton shared his thoughts on what he expects Stephen Vogt’s team to do.
Talking on the Carlos Baerga Show, Lofton urged the Guardians not to wear out their bullpen like they did last season.
“Hopefully they don’t wear their bullpen out like they did last year,” Lofton said.

He hopes they will get more production from the starters, and he also thinks they should give them a longer leash.
That way, they will have some fresh arms down the stretch when it matters the most, which was a big issue in the ALCS loss to the New York Yankees.
The Guardians have gone 2-4 to start the season, and they had their work cut out for them with a three-game series against the undefeated San Diego Padres before facing the Los Angeles Angels.
So far, the bullpen hasn’t been as lights out as everybody expected, but a lot of that also had to do with the Padres and their red-hot start to the season.
They only managed to score four runs throughout their three-game series vs. the best team in the National League.
Hopefully, going against a more vulnerable opponent will be just what they need to get back to their winning ways after three consecutive losses.
They certainly have the arms to make some noise.
