The Cleveland Guardians made a couple of roster moves on Thursday.
As we get closer to the start of the season, the number of players in camp will gradually decrease as manager Stephen Vogt picks the 26 guys who will be traveling back to Cleveland with the team.
Two talented lefties won’t be among those 26, as they were sent to minor league camp.
“Roster moves today: +Reassigned LHP Andrew Misiaszek and LHP Ryan Webb to Minor League camp,” GuardsInsider, the Guardians’ account for prospects and minor leaguers, wrote on X.

A few days ago, the Guards had optioned outfielder Petey Halpin to Triple-A Columbus and reassigned pitchers Will Dion, Tanner Burns, Mason Hickman, and Jack Leftwich; plus catchers Jake Anchia and Cooper Ingle to minor league camp.
Now, it’s Misiaszek and Webb’s turn.
The former is a 27-year-old reliever who posted a perfect 0.00 ERA in 6.2 innings this spring.
Those are very nice numbers, especially considering the fact they also came with six strikeouts.
There is some sustainability in Misiaszek’s profile.
Last year, he posted a 3.80 ERA and struck out 29 hitters in 23.2 innings at two minor league levels.
He is a Tommy John survivor who had an amazing 2022 before going under the knife.
He has some post-hype intrigue but cracking the Guardians’ bullpen is one of the toughest propositions for any pitcher in baseball.
Webb is a command-over-stuff pitching prospect who posted a 2.80 ERA in 141.1 frames between Double-A and Triple-A.
He will eventually get his chance but is currently buried in the Guardians’ starting pitching depth chart.
Cleveland keeps trimming its roster with Opening Day getting closer.
