The Cleveland Guardians have several question marks ahead of the upcoming season.
They were one of the most surprising teams in all of baseball in 2024, making it all the way to the American League Championship Series vs. the New York Yankees.
They won’t be a surprising team anymore, though, as everybody will be more than ready for them.
Furthermore, with veterans like Josh Naylor and Andres Gimenez traded away, we still don’t know how things will unfold next season.
That’s why Garrett Bush thinks the young players will be the key to making or breaking this team.
Talking on the “Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show,” Bush wondered which young player would step up this season.
There are several young players that could step up.
Juan Brito might be one of the most popular responses.
He has yet to make his debut in the Majors, but some believe he’s going to be the team’s starting second baseman by Opening Day.
He has fared pretty well in the minors, and his offensive prowess could fit this team like a glove.
He’s clearly not the defensive player Gimenez was, and he might never be, but this team needs a big boost at the plate, and he has the potential to be that kind of catalyst.
Bo Naylor will also be a candidate to step up.
Everybody knows what he’s capable of defensively, so if he adds a little more plate discipline to his game, he could also give this team a significant boost.
