A couple of years ago, former Chicago White Sox SS Tim Anderson became famous with Cleveland Guardians fans.
More specifically, he joined Jose Ramirez’s list of enemies.
Back in 2023, Ramirez slid head-first into second base, and Anderson didn’t care for it.
The two started trading words and things escalated.

They wound up throwing punches, with Anderson swinging and missing before Ramirez dropped him with a strong blow to the chin.
Now, talking to A.J. Pierzynski on the ‘Foul Territory’ podcast, Anderson reminisced about his now-infamous confrontation with Ramirez.

Pierzynski, who has also been punched in the face on national television, asked Anderson how he’s dealt with that and whether the fans or his acquaintances had poked fun at him for that:
“I wouldn’t say I’d go as far as signing pictures. But I was going through sh** before that moment. That was probably [what] created the energy and vibes to be able to tap into that energy,” Anderson admitted. “I can’t really change what happened. But I understood a lot of things in that moment throughout that situation. I understand what love was. I understand who really is your teammate, who really got your back, who’s really in your corner. So I could say I understand those in that moment, for sure.”
Notably, that brawl may have marked the beginning of the end for Anderson.
A former two All-Star shortstop, his fall from grace has been quite notorious.
The White Sox chose not to pick up his option, leading him to sign a one-year deal with the Miami Marlins, who designated him for assignment after a disappointing season.
He has now signed a minor league deal with the ever-struggling Los Angeles Angels, and this might be his final opportunity to stay in the league for the long run.
If that’s not the case, one thing’s for sure: He definitely shouldn’t try to pursue a career in boxing or MMA after his playing days are over.
