Every baseball player has an inner kid.
After all, and despite the fact they are getting paid for it, they are playing a game and it’s important not to lose sight of that.
In addition to that, kids contribute a lot to the baseball industry: time and, above all things, hopes and dreams.
Those are valuable things.
Cleveland Guardians pitcher Triston McKenzie understands this better than anyone.
He hosts an annual baseball camp for kids in South Florida.
This week, the eighth edition of the camp took place.
McKenzie teaches the kids all the fundamentals of baseball and gives them a platform to play and have fun.
Of course, there is also time for interviews.
He gave what should be considered the most hilarious and wholesome interview of the young year so far.
“More baseball content we all need! Cleveland #Guardians RHP Triston McKenzie being interviewed by some of the kids that recently participated in his annual youth baseball camp,” Guardians Prospective posted on X.

McKenzie was asked everything you would expect from the kids: his favorite animal, color, and superhero, among several other things.
He took the time to answer each one and had a lot of fun in the process.
McKenzie, one of the top young starters in the American League just three years ago, has been pitching with a partial UCL tear for quite some time now.
It has affected his command and ability to throw strikes consistently, to the point he had a 5.11 ERA in 75.2 MLB innings and was demoted to Triple-A.
He also struggled at Columbus but has worked hard in the offseason to turn things around.
A healthy, effective McKenzie would give the Guardians exactly what they need.
