The Cleveland Guardians have many top middle infield prospects.
There is Travis Bazzana, of course: the No. 1 pick of the 2024 MLB Draft is among the best prospects in the game regardless of organization and position.
The Guards also have Angel Genao, Angel Martinez, Juan Brito, and the still very young Brayan Rocchio as potential middle infield options now or in the future.
Milan Tolentino is often overlooked in these discussions, and while it’s clear he doesn’t have the upside of those in the aforementioned group, he could be a useful major leaguer one day.
That day could potentially come in 2025 if he works hard and catches a few breaks.
“Cleveland #Guardians 23yr old (SS) prospect Milan Tolentino getting same cage work in back home in California. Tolentino participated in the Arizona Fall League this year where he posted a .352 OBP finishing 2nd in the League in both walks with 20 and SB with 12,” Guardians Prospective recently posted on his X account.

Tolentino has been working on his game and on his swing for some time now if we count his productive AFL stint.
He was an on-base machine in the desert, and we got to see some of his best attributes as a player: his ability to get on base and his speed.
Tolentino, who was a non-roster spring training invitee by the Guardians, will get a chance to impress in MLB camp.
He lacks star upside on offense, but could develop into a solid bench piece or perhaps something more.
In 111 Double-A games, he delivered a 97 wRC+ with nine homers and 17 stolen bases in 2024.
He also had a healthy 9.3 percent walk rate, even though he does have some swing-and-miss in his game.
With enough defensive versatility and arm strength to potentially manage multiple positions, the bat will determine how far he can go.
He has an outside chance of reaching the majors late this season.
It will be up to him.
