MLB Network ranks the ten best players at every position around this time of the year, right before spring training.
It’s a nice exercise to keep fans engaged and interested in the game during the slowest part of the offseason.
For their rankings, MLB Network considers votes from fans around the league and Cleveland Guardians star Jose Ramirez was clearly their favorite when it comes to third base.
However, the real, final rankings (called ‘The Shredder’) also include advanced and traditional stats, opinions and views from experts and analysts, past performance, and other factors.
Well, it turns out that not just fans view Ramirez as the best third baseman in baseball: stats, analysts and the MLB Network research team all do, too.
“This is a future Hall of Famer we’re looking at right now.” @CleGuardians stalwart José Ramírez topped The Shredder’s #Top10RightNow for the fourth time in his career!” they posted on X.

Maybe he is not underrated anymore: fans in the replies section have certified Ramirez’s dominance and status as a true superstar.
The analysts at MLB Network are calling him a future Hall of Famer, and if he keeps this up, we might have to believe them.
Ramirez just wrapped up his age-32 season with 39 home runs, 41 stolen bases, 39 doubles, 114 runs scored, 118 RBI, and a .872 OPS.
It doesn’t get much better than that around the league, and not just among third basemen.
Ramirez is still one of the best players in the sport.
