Among Cleveland Guardians position player prospects, outfielder Jaison Chourio is probably the one with the most sheer upside.
He may or may not reach it, but there is no denying that the set of skills is tantalizing.
One thing that Chourio appears to have is work ethic.
The kid works hard and trains with a goal on his mind: reaching the major leagues and become a star there, just like his brother.
Yes, Jaison’s brother Jackson had a breakout season with the Milwaukee Brewers and the young Guardians outfielder hopes to follow a similar path in a year or two.
In order to do that, he has to sacrifice things and work hard.
That’s exactly what he’s doing.

Chourio had his 2024 campaign with Low-A Lynchburg halted due to a fractured wrist in August.
Before that, he had accumulated some impressive numbers.
The diminutive outfielder sure showed more power than expected for his build and had 31 extra-base hits.
That’s not the most impressive thing about him, though.
He also stole 44 bases and drew 86 walks posting a .414 OBP.
His 144 wRC+ over 98 games played put him among the best players in his league.
He is already over his wrist injury and is expected to be a full go for spring training.
The future is bright for him: the Guardians will likely have him start next year in High-A, where his abilities will be truly tested.
He is good enough to keep moving up, though.
