Steven Kwan is having a sensational year for the Cleveland Guardians and will be deservedly starting in next week’s All-Star game due to his gaudy .363 batting average, which is 39 points higher than the next closest hitter.
With a batting average that impressive in today’s day and age, many have said that Kwan has mastered the art of hitting, and a recent video shares some of Kwan’s insight on what goes into his approach.
Bally Sports Cleveland shared a 1-minute video about Kwan, where the star outfielder said “Once you’ve done it so many times, that muscle memory starts to kick in and you feel strong, you feel ready to go, activated, you feel really good” and added the importance of visualization, saying “You want to see that ball go through in your head so that once you do it in a game you’re like ‘okay, I already saw that happen, it’s nothing new.’ Routines are everything.”

Whatever Kwan is doing this season is working, as he has also added more power to his game with nine home runs already in just 64 games after hitting just 11 in 305 games over his first two seasons in the big leagues.
Kwan hit just .268 last year after hitting .298 as a rookie and continues to post a near-even walk-to-strikeout ratio despite starting to hit for more power.
The star left-fielder still hasn’t burst onto the scene nationally due to being in a small market, but Kwan has ascended to become one of the game’s best hitters.
Hopefully, he can keep it up in the second half and bring home a batting title.
