The Cleveland Guardians are blessed to have Jose Ramirez in their lineup, and experts in MVP discussions increasingly mention his name.
That’s due to the 12-year veteran being the offensive leader on a powerful Cleveland squad with its sights set on the World Series.
MLB insider Keith Irizarry told FanDuel TV that Ramirez is working his way into the discussion for American League MVP.
Irizarry noted, “The dude is raking. 21 home runs, 72 RBIs, 15 stolen bases… If he’s the best player on the best team in that division, I think he’ll at least be in the consideration.

According to the pundit, Ramirez is currently third in the AL in home runs and tenth in stolen bases.
He is also stroking a .275 batting average, which almost perfectly aligns with his career .279 number.
Add 15 doubles to that impressive home run and RBI total, and it’s easy to see why his name is mentioned along with Aaron Judge and other greats of the American League.
Ramirez is only two years removed from his mammoth 2022 campaign in which he led the junior circuit in home runs with 44.
It was that year when he further demonstrated his love for the city by passing up what surely would have been a more lucrative contract to sign a seven-year $141 million deal to keep him in Cleveland.
This has been a special week for Ramirez, who matched a milestone on Monday in Baltimore and then surpassed it the following night.
On Monday, Ramirez belted his 236th career home run to tie Guardians great Manny Ramirez for third on the club’s all-time list.
The next night, he hit a three-run shot.
