The night that many Cleveland Guardians fans anticipated is finally here.
The City Connect uniforms were introduced to the world last weekend, and to this point, we have seen them in the team store and on players recording short videos for the Guardians’ social media accounts.
We haven’t yet seen them in games.
Well, that will change on Friday night.
The Guards will start a key three-game series against the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field, and they will be wearing the City Connect threads.
“Tonight we wear CLE across our chests for the first time in a big series against the Twins,” the team’s official account tweeted on Friday.

The uniforms have been widely accepted and almost universally liked by Guardians fans.
The blue jersey is reminiscent of the 90s teams that came so close to winning two World Series, and there are designs and elements inspired by the Guardians of Traffic sculptures near Progressive Field.
Players can’t wait to try these uniforms on, and they will do it for the first time in game action on Friday against a direct rival in the AL Central race.
The Guardians are currently first with a 27-17 record, then the Kansas City Royals (1.5 games back) and the Twins (2.5 games back) are their closest competitors.
The Twins were playing some really good baseball up until last week, but are coming off a sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees.
The Guardians, on the other hand, won three out of their last four contests after losing three straight to the Chicago White Sox.
It will be a fascinating clash, and the Guards will have that big “CLE” on their chest come Friday night.
