With less than one month to go before the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, it is a good time to check in on the voting that will help determine the starting lineup. The Cleveland Guardians have several players who deserve consideration, even if none is seen as a clear-cut choice.
Even with a down season, and before a recent injury, third baseman Jose Ramirez was a legitimate candidate to start for the American League for a fourth straight season and fifth time overall. Temmates Travis Bazzana, Chase DeLauter and Steven Kwan are also drawing some attention.
The Guardians are urging fans to vote those four of their players into the All-Star Game in Philadelphia, though they each have significant ground to make up to get there.
“We’ve got lots of work to do, Cleveland. Let’s get our boys to Philly!” the Guardians posted.

Ramirez is fifth in the voting among AL third basemen, behind leader Junior Caminero of the Tampa Bay Rays, who ironically was a former Cleveland prospect. However, with a left hamate injury that could sideline him for 5-7 weeks, Ramirez is unlikely to get the votes he needs, and he would be unlikely to participate even if he did.
Despite not making his MLB debut until April 28, Bazzana is third among second basemen. He is far behind Ernie Clement of the Toronto Blue Jays, but the Rookie of the Year candidate could be named to the AL team as a reserve if he keeps up his strong play.
DeLauter is eighth in the voting for three outfield spots, while two-time All-Star Steven Kwan is 16th. DeLauter had a much better case early in the season, but after slowing down considerably in his power production, the rookie is also now dealing with a rib injury. Kwan has not been close to the form that got him invited to the game the past two years.
Interestingly, the Guardians did not mention shortstop Brayan Rocchio in this post. He has built a strong case for selection with a breakout offensive performance this season.
Cleveland’s best chance to have an All-Star starter comes on the mound, with Gavin Williams and Parker Messick each drawing some hype for the role, and closer Cade Smith is almost certain to be on the roster, as he currently leads the majors in saves.
