Professional athletes, including baseball players, are often seen as celebrities by fans.
They are, in some cases, rich and famous and enjoy all the benefits that brings them.
However, the ones who want to really make a difference use their fame and name to contribute to their community in any way they can.
This is the case of Cleveland Guardians infielder Tyler Freeman.
Many Guardians players get involved in community projects and offer their time to help, especially with kids.
Freeman, in this case, is embarking on a noble project.
“Welcome to Tyler Freeman joins our JR98 INC Ambassadors. ‘Mental Health is a journey that isn’t to be alone. No one should ever struggle in silence. My goal being apart of JR98 is to be there for anyone who needs a shoulder to lean on. I am beyond grateful to be wearing JR98,'” JR98, an organization that advocates for mental health and suicide prevention “through education and community service” tweeted.

Many athletes prioritize physical health and make it a constant theme around their careers.
However, they know more than anyone that people often deal with anxiety, depression, fear, pain, traumas, and more.
Freeman is using his voice, as a young, up-and-coming major leaguer, to be there for people in need.
Empathy is, sometimes, all we need: to know that someone has our back.
And Freeman, with the platform that JR98 gives him, intends to help others.
Kudos to him on his new project.
