Super Bowl Sunday is just days away, which means MLB Opening Day is right around the corner. However, baseball fans get a fun little appetizer before the main course of the MLB season in 2026, as the always exciting World Baseball Classic begins on March 6th.
The Cleveland Guardians, just like every other team, will get to watch a handful of their players take place on one of the biggest stages this beautiful sport has to offer. All fans can hope for is that these nine Guardians do their best, remain healthy, and help their teams deliver on the biggest stage before returning to Spring Training to get ready to chase a third consecutive AL Central crown.
MLB.com recently shared an official list of every player from each team competing in the WBC. There aren’t a ton of key Guardians on the list, but it should be a valuable experience for those involved.
“Here are the players in every Major League organization that have been included on the rosters for the 2026 World Baseball Classic. GUARDIANS: Logan Allen (Panama), Travis Bazzana (Australia), Dylan DeLucia (Italy), Stuart Fairchild (Chinese Taipei), Matt Festa (Italy), Dayan Frias (Colombia), Bo Naylor (Canada) Ryan Prager (Israel), Matt Wilkinson (Canada),” MLB.com wrote.
The Guardians organization is well represented via seven different countries and will send a few key members of the team to the tournament, including starting pitcher Logan Allen, starting catcher Bo Naylor, and top overall prospect Travis Bazzana. Bazzana is the one who most will be excited to see, as he is knocking on the door of the big leagues and could bash his way to a big confidence boost with a big performance for Australia.
We have seen players step up on this stage before and carry that momentum over into the MLB regular season. Bazzana is a featured player for Australia and will have every chance to lead them to a few upsets, and if he does, he can remind everyone what made him such a highly-coveted prospect and a can’t-miss future superstar.
