From 2009 to 2020, Carlos Carrasco pitched for the Cleveland Guardians.
He was highly successful as a starter in the 2010s with the team, with a 3.77 ERA in parts of 11 seasons.
He was, in early 2021, traded to the New York Mets alongside Francisco Lindor.
Injuries and ineffectiveness ruined his Mets tenure, but the Guardians brought him back on the cheap as he looks to bounce back from a horrible 6.80 ERA in 90 innings in 2023.
At 36 years old, the odds are against him.
However, he seems to be determined to return to his past levels.
Carrasco went to Driveline, a specialized skills training facility known for helping players get the best out of their physical tools.
At this point, Driveline is directly associated with the hope for a rebound, or a breakout season by a player, depending on the case.
The fact Carrasco went there means he has one goal in mind: to claim a spot in the Guardians rotation.
The early results look fantastic, as the facility published a video of a short throwing session of Carrasco using most of his pitches:

He needs to work on the command of his slider, among other things, but he is looking good overall.
The sinker is already coming out at the 91-92 mph range, which is encouraging so early, before the start of spring training.
Chances are that his velocity readings will increase the closer he gets to live game competition.
If Carrasco can at least be a 4.00 ERA pitcher, he will give the Guardians plenty of solutions and valuable depth.
