The Cleveland Guardians have the luxury of having impact young players all over their roster.
This week, MLB Network featured one of them, who spoke about two other young contributors at length.
Triston McKenzie, one of the most talented up-and-coming arms in the American League, was asked about what it is like to play and share a dugout with Josh and Bo Naylor.
Josh had a career year in 2023, hitting 31 doubles and 17 home runs with a fine .842 OPS, driving in 97 runs in just 121 games.
His brother Bo became a major leaguer last year, and was mightily impressive with a .809 OPS and 11 home runs in just 67 games.
McKenzie, who had his year marred by injuries, discussed the two players, via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM.
While noting that Josh is a “lead by example” guy who gets it done with his energy, the pitcher said Bo is the exact opposite, being more reserved and quiet.

“Bo is super reserved, super calm. He still has that drive to win but it’s not like ‘in your face.’ He is hard-nosed,” McKenzie said.
McKenzie is hoping for an injury-free season.
He was limited to 16 frames in 2023, with a 5.06 ERA.
However, we all saw what he is capable of in 2022, when he posted a 2.96 ERA in 191.1 innings.
