The Cleveland Guardians have always taken pride in their farm system. That should continue to be the case for many more years to come.
With that in mind, it’s not hard to find players who might be ready to take a big leap next season. Of course, that list includes OF prospect Alfonsin Rosario. As shown by Tobey Schulman on X, he’s one of the most promising players on the Guardians’ farm system right now:
“Some of the most interesting tools in the Guards system. Plus power and speed paired with an elite arm,” Schulman posted on X.

The 21-year-old turned plenty of heads at High-A and Double-A last season. In 115 games across both levels, he had a .251 batting average, a .345 OBP, a .806 OPS, and a .461 SLG on 499 plate appearances. If that wasn’t impressive enough, he also had 69 runs scored, 64 RBI, 22 doubles, 21 home runs, 14 stolen bases, three triples, a 0.38 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and a 129 wRC+.
The Guardians could certainly use some help in the outfield. They might end up trading Steven Kwan if they don’t sign him to a contract extension.
Right now, they have multiple prospects who have already shown themselves to be MLB-ready to take care of business in the outfield. Chase DeLauter, George Valera, and C.J. Kayfus should be ahead of the rest of the pack. However, it might not be long before Rosario joins that list.
Of course, he still has plenty of hurdles to clear, and he needs to prove his worth at Triple-A Columbus first. But if he continues the path he’s on right now, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see him get the nod at some point next season.
