Gabriel Arias has filled nearly every infield role for the Cleveland Guardians since arriving in April 2022, rotating between shortstop, second base, third base, and occasional first base. His defense has remained solid throughout, and while his bat hasn’t been a standout, it has trended in the right direction.
During the offseason, Arias plays for Tiburones de La Guaira in Venezuela’s winter league, primarily at shortstop, and has shown offensive stretches where his production clicks with timely hits and run-scoring swings. Arias recently stepped away briefly to be present for a significant personal milestone.

During the 2025 MLB season, he and his wife publicly announced they were expecting another child, including a pregame gender-reveal moment at Progressive Field. Wearing blue gear on the field, Arias announced the couple would be having a boy.
The Cleveland organization and social media congratulated Gabriel and his partner, Genesis, as part of the team’s baseball family. He is expected to rejoin Tiburones next week, signaling both his return to winter action and his continued preparation ahead of the 2026 season.
Through the end of the 2025 season, Arias owns a career MLB line of around .215 batting average with 25 home runs, 100 RBI, and 17 steals over roughly 950 at-bats. His 2025 campaign showed modest improvement in power and overall production, posting approximately a .220 average, 11 home runs, eight stolen bases, and mid-.600s OPS.
