The Cleveland Guardians need to get better at the plate next season.
Fortunately, it seems like Gabriel Arias is getting ready to help.
As shown by Guardians Prospective, the shortstop recently hit his second home run in the Venezuelan Winter League.
Arias, who’s playing for Tiburones de La Guaira, hit a two-run homer against Leones del Caracas.

The middle infielder needs to make the most of this opportunity this offseason.
He will face plenty of competition for playing time next season, and he needs to prove that he’s a player the Guardians want in their lineup.
Cleveland reportedly will explore trading either him or Brayan Rocchio, as they also have Angel Martinez and Juan Brito in the mix, and utility man Daniel Schneemann has proven to be a valuable asset.
The Guardians are also likely to call up top prospect Travis Bazzana at some point, and though he usually plays second base, that will add another middle infielder to the logjam.
As the No. 1 overall pick from the 2024 MLB Draft, once he arrives, they will give Bazzana the chance to develop and grow through his mistakes.
With that in mind, Arias needs to improve his approach at the plate and work on his offense to remain in Cleveland’s plans.
He had some big hits down the stretch this season, but he might be on the outside looking in at this point.
