Manny Ramirez may be eyeing a return to Major League Baseball, though not as a player.
The 53-year-old slugger has made his availability known to all 30 teams for a hitting coach position, hoping to share the knowledge that made him one of baseball’s most feared right-handed hitters.
Ramirez last appeared in an MLB game in 2011, but his credentials remain impressive.
The two-time World Series champion finished his 19-year career with 555 home runs, a .312 batting average, and a .996 OPS.
“Manny Ramirez is getting word out to all 30 teams he’d love to serve as an MLB hitting coach. ‘He wants to bring his greatness to teach the young guys,’ his agent Hector Zepeda said,” Jon Heyman posted on X.

Ramirez has stayed connected to baseball in various capacities since his playing days ended.
In 2014, he worked as a player-coach for Triple-A Iowa, the Cubs’ minor league affiliate.
The following year, he transitioned into a hitting consultant role, maintaining his involvement in the game through mentoring opportunities.
His time with the Cleveland Guardians established the foundation for his Hall of Fame-caliber career.
Ramirez debuted with Cleveland in 1993 and quickly became one of the league’s most dangerous offensive threats.
He played 967 games with the franchise, hitting .313 with 236 home runs and 804 RBIs before moving on to later success with Boston and other teams.
This isn’t the first time Ramirez has made himself available for coaching positions.
Back in May, Sean McAdam of MassLive reported that the 12-time All-Star contacted an MLB manager during the winter about potential opportunities.
Whether any team will act on his current offer remains uncertain, but Ramirez clearly believes he has valuable knowledge to pass on to the next generation.
