The Cleveland Guardians have been one of the hottest teams in baseball and have injected themselves into the thick of the AL playoff race.
Cleveland doesn’t exactly control its destiny while it is on the outside looking in, but if the Guardians stay as hot as they have been, there is a legitimate path to the postseason.
Always The Jake recently laid out what could happen for the Guardians in their final 11 games.
“11-0 guarantees us the AL Central crown. 10-1 probably gets us a postseason berth. 9-2 gives us a good chance. 8-3 and we’re counting on someone else to collapse. Any less than that, and our chances are next to zero,” it wrote on X.

Cleveland likely has to face Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal twice as they chase the AL Central leaders.
But with the way the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros are scuffling, thanks to injuries to some key hitters in their lineups, it would appear that momentum is on Cleveland’s side in the AL Wild Card race.
A few months ago, the division looked like it was long gone with the Tigers flying high as the best team in the American League, but the Guardians’ starting rotation has come together, and with the offense producing just enough, the gap has closed quickly.
Cleveland has gone 14 straight games without allowing an opponent to score more than five runs, and if it can keep that going, a postseason berth could become a reality.
