The Cleveland Guardians have battled all season long.
They haven’t always found success, but they’ve approached every game with the same energy and determination to get the job done.
That’s why they’re still alive in the AL playoff race, which is something that looked almost impossible in June.
With that in mind, analyst Bruce Drennan tipped his hat to the team.
“I can’t help but applaud the resiliency of this 2025 version. Remember, we lost 10 in a row in July and had a 1-9 stretch in August. On July the 6th, Cleveland was 40-48. I really do love this group. Manager Stephen Vogt says how proud he is of their resiliency,” Drennan said.
"I really do LOVE this group."
At one point this season, the #Guardians were completely out of the postseason race. Now, just 2.5 games back, Bruce can't help but applaud the resiliency. #GuardsBall

The Guardians have arguably been the most resilient team in baseball this season.
They’ve had to deal with plenty of adversity, but they’ve never stopped pushing.
They lost All-Star closer Emmanuel Clase, who’s on administrative leave as part of an MLB gambling investigation.
That would’ve been more than enough to make other teams wave the white flag, move on from their veterans at the trade deadline and just plan for the future.
The Guardians, however, have shown they’re not like other teams.
They continue to close the gap on other playoff contenders.
Now, after winning their series against the Detroit Tigers, they have a legitimate chance to make the postseason, not just as a wild card, but as the AL Central champions.
That’s something not even the most optimistic fan thought was going to happen just a couple of months ago.
There’s plenty of work to be done, and as well as they’ve fared in recent weeks, they can’t afford to take their foot off the gas now.
