The Cleveland Guardians will look to finish a sweep of the Detroit Tigers.
Tanner Bibee will take the mound for Cleveland against Detroit ace Tarik Skubal.
There’s a lot at stake at this point in the season, which is why the Guardians are also thinking about the Minnesota Twins.
“Stephen Vogt noted Parker Messick will start Friday against the Twins and Joey Cantillo will go Sunday. Logan Allen and Slade Cecconi are set to start in Saturday’s doubleheader, but the Guardians are still determining who goes which game,” Tim Stebbins wrote on X.

The Guardians’ pitching staff has been absolutely lights out lately, with everyone peaking at the right time.
They chose to use a six-man rotation for the most crucial stretch of the season, playing 24 games in as many days.
Following a stretch of 17 in a row, after one day off, they have seven games in six days, including that doubleheader against the Twins.
The Guardians have already taken two games from the Tigers, and they’re closing the gap between them in the AL Central.
It’s crazy to think that Cleveland could actually make the playoffs as a division champion rather than a wild card.
The Guardians have four games left against the Tigers, and though winning every game until the end of the season might not be realistic, Detroit will also lose some along the way.
There’s still hope, and the Guardians have shown that they won’t stop fighting.
