To say that this season has been a rollercoaster for Cleveland Guardians fans would be a massive understatement.
Stephen Vogt’s team arrived in the season fresh off a trip to the ALCS, and while they had lost a key bat in Josh Naylor, they still looked poised to contend for the AL Central pennant and more.
Then, June came.
The Guardians went 9-16 and endured one of their worst offensive months in franchise history.
Notably, they still kept their head down, got to work, kept believing, pushing and fighting, and they’re right back in the playoff race.
That’s why team senior VP Bob DiBiasio had nothing but praise for this group.
“We’ve had a heck of a revive. After losing 10 in a row, we’ve had a great 31-game stretch—22-9. We were 15.5 back after losing 10 in a row. We’re in the hunt. The last seven weeks are going to be a lot of fun,” DiBiasio said.

This turnaround speaks volumes about Stephen Vogt not only as a tactician but also as a leader of men.
It’s not easy to stay motivated in the midst of a ten-game losing streak and with the trade deadline looming.
That’s particularly true for a team that was expected to compete for a postseason spot.
More impressively, this team has also watched two pitchers being placed on non-disciplinary paid leave due to an alleged involvement in a sports gambling scheme.
Yet, nothing has been bad enough to break this team’s spirit and stride.
There’s still plenty of baseball to be played, and there are no guarantees; they can still get ice-cold and fall short.
But judging by their resiliency and character, it’s safe to say that this team will never stop fighting and trying to compete.
