Even when he’s not at his best, Jose Ramirez is still one of the best players in Major League Baseball.
The Dominican superstar had been going through a bit of a slump, and true to form, he found the most Jose Ramirez way to get out of it.
Ramirez hit a couple of home runs to power the Cleveland Guardians past the Miami Marlins at Progressive Field.
Now, as pointed out by StatMuse, he’s joined Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong as the only two players with at least 25 home runs and 25 stolen bases this season.

That speaks volumes of the caliber of season the start third baseman is having, even if he’s cooled off.
If that wasn’t enough, this was also his 27th career multi-homer game, which put him in the lead in the franchise’s all-time records.
Ramirez hadn’t been as sharp as usual over the past six games or so.
He and Steven Kwan were struggling at the plate, which clearly isn’t a usual sight.
Even so, the team continues to march strong on its way to the playoffs.
As things stand now, the Guardians are just one game behind the slumping New York Yankees.
They’re playing their best baseball when it matters the most, and they still have a legitimate opportunity to catch the Detroit Tigers atop the AL Central.
Of course, it won’t be easy, but this team will always stand a chance as long as they have a player of Jose Ramirez’s caliber to lead the way for them.
