The Cleveland Guardians won just nine of 25 games in June.
As early as that was in the season, that would’ve been a stretch most teams could not overcome.
However, Guardians manager Stephen Vogt didn’t want to hear anything about that.
He knew his team was better, and he urged the fans to keep the faith.
That’s why, even though analyst Anthony Lima didn’t buy it at first, he’s now giving the team its flowers.
“I thought they were done. I thought they were dead. Nobody was buying what Vogt was saying when he would come on during every game of the 10-game losing streak. You could imagine those guys are fired up right now about everything. Think about the roller coaster of emotions. We don’t know what’s true or what’s not, but there’s gotta be some thought of betrayal in that clubhouse if you had two different pitchers doing extracurriculars that could harm your chance to win games. You gotta be mad about it. How are you going to turn it into good? Well, I got an idea: Start winning series, and start putting it together. And they’ve done that,” Lima said, via 92.3 The Fan.

The team never stopped fighting, even with Luis L. Ortiz and Emmanuel Clase lost to them due to an MLB gambling investigation.
Fortunately, the Guardians had held their own before that huge slump, and they eventually found their way at the plate.
They bounced back, and they’re now 5-1 in August.
They have the best record in baseball since the All-Star Game, and they’re in the mix to earn an AL Wild Card.
This team has gone through a lot, but they haven’t let any of it break their spirit.
They always knew they were better than their record and had confidence in their ability to shake off those offensive woes and get back on track.
It takes plenty of mental strength and resiliency to pull this off, and it also takes a great leader to keep morale high.
