The Cleveland Guardians keep rolling.
They have been one of the hottest teams in baseball for a couple of weeks now, and the timing couldn’t have been better.
That’s why analyst Grant Puskar believes they now have a “golden opportunity” to gain some momentum before the trade deadline.
“They start with three against the Colorado Rockies at home. Sitting at 52-53 (3.5 GB playoffs), they have a golden opportunity to get back to two games above .500 before Thursday’s deadline. Must win all three,” Puskar wrote on X.
It’s Monday… which means a fresh week for the #Guardians.

The Guardians looked like a deadline seller just last month, but this recent momentum may have changed everything.
They will get back ace Shane Bieber at some point, as well as John Means.
They still have a solid bullpen with one of the best one-two punches in the game in Cade Smith and Emmanuel Clase.
Though hitting prospects Chase DeLauter and Travis Bazzana might not be ready to make their MLB debut because of injuries, C.J. Kayfus looks more than ready to get the nod.
That doesn’t sound like a team that should be selling right now.
If anything, it just needs a couple of pieces to put around Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan.
The Guardians might not be as competitive as they were last season, but the field is level when the playoffs start.
Even if they don’t get that far in the postseason, the core isn’t that far away from contention and might only need a strong offseason to threaten for the World Series again.
