Help could be on the way for the Cleveland Guardians.
Ace Shane Bieber looked sharp again, and he continues to take big steps on his way back from Tommy John surgery.
Bieber started for High-A Lake County on Tuesday and in three innings, he gave up one run on two hits with four strikeouts and no walks, via Guardians Prospective on X.

He threw 30 strikes on 43 pitches, and reportedly will continue at a 40-45 pitch limit for now.
Notably, this outing started the clock on his 30-day window for a rehab assignment.
He will likely make at least two more starts to keep building his pitch count to make his MLB season debut in August.
Bieber was expected to be back in June or July, but he sustained a setback that changed those plans, and he was shut down for a week.
The Guardians’ rotation has done a solid job in his absence, especially in the past month.
They’ve posted the seventh-lowest ERA in the majors since June 1 (3.85), and the starters have thrown the second-most innings (241) during that span.
Adding a player of Bieber’s caliber will only boost their postseason chances, even if he’s on a pitch count for four or five starts before ramping things up ahead of the playoffs.
