The Cleveland Guardians entered this season with two big-name prospects waiting in line to get called up.
Unfortunately, injuries got in Travis Bazzana’s and Chase DeLauter’s way.
However, one of their prospects could and should still make his way to the top.
As reported by Guardians Prospective on X, star prospect C.J. Kayfus has been killing it at Triple-A Columbus.
The 23-year-old recorded three hits in his latest performance.
Cleveland #Guardians 23yr old (1B/OF) prospect C.J. Kayfus collected three hits tonight (3-5 2R 2B HR RBI) for Columbus including his 14th HR of the season a 421 foot shot in the 9th inning that came off the bat at 102.1 mph!

He went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two doubles, one home run, and one RBI for Columbus.
He had a 421-foot blast for his 14th homer of the season, and it reportedly had an exit velocity of 102.1 mph.
That epic performance drove his batting average all the way to .313 for the season with a .978 OPS and 39 extra-base hits in 78 games.
The Guardians could certainly use some offensive punch.
Kayfus might not be the most-hyped prospect in the team’s farm system, but he’s definitely been the best and the most consistent.
With not many options available and with the front office not likely to make a run at any big-name slugger before the July 31 trade deadline, perhaps their best reinforcement might come from within.
They’ve lacked consistency at the plate, and their inability to generate runs has come back to haunt them more often than not.
Fortunately, they will now have one of the easiest – if not the easiest – schedules in all of baseball to close out the season.
And with the final wild card spot in the American League still up for grabs, Kayfus could be the catalyst they need.
