Terry Francona’s tenure with the Cleveland Guardians was often met with mixed reviews.
However, he helped the organization win a lot of games.
That’s why some celebrate the fact that he became just the 13th manager in major league history to reach 2,000 wins.

He did so when his Cincinnati Reds took down the Colorado Rockies 4-2 on Sunday.
The Reds honored him in the clubhouse after reaching such an impressive milestone, with several players embracing him and even giving him some presents.
The 66-year-old joined Bruce Bochy of the Texas Rangers as the only active managers with at least 2,000 triumphs.
10 of the other 12 managers have already been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Of course, that puts the former Guardians manager well on pace to be immortalized into the Hall of Fame as well.
So far, Francona has posted a 2,000-1,719 record over 24 seasons.
He won World Series titles with the Boston Red Sox in 2004 and 2007, and he also reached the ultimate stage with the Guardians almost a decade ago.
He also holds the record for the most wins in Guardians history (921), a milestone he amassed over 11 years.
He also won 744 games with the Red Sox and 285 with the Philadelphia Phillies.
So far, he’s posted a 50-47 record in his first season with the Reds.
He signed a three-year pact with the organization, and he has a club option for the 2028 season.
