The Cleveland Guardians can’t catch a break.
Just when it seemed like star youngster Chase DeLauter could be on his way to the big show, he sustained another injury.
According to a report by Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com, DeLauter was out of the Triple-A lineup with a sore right wrist, and he will be evaluated over the All-Star break.

He’s reportedly considered day-to-day, and he’s been out since Thursday.
DeLauter has reportedly been playing through this soreness for the past couple of weeks.
The team will now determine the extent of the ailment and the course of action.
Even so, if you were to look at his stats, you’d never be able to tell that he’s dealing with any sort of discomfort.
So far, the 23-year-old outfielder has posted a .278/.383/.476 slash line with an OPS of .859 through 34 appearances for the Columbus Clippers.
The Guardians are struggling mightily on offense, and given his blend of power and contact and his sky-high upside as one of the most promising players in all of baseball, there was plenty of buzz about a potential call-up after the All-Star break.
Then again, DeLauter has a long and well-documented history of ailments and injuries, so the team might want to keep erring on the side of caution with him.
Hopefully, the extended rest will give the young star all the time he needs to get back to full strength, as there’s a lot of hype about his call-up and the kind of offensive boost he could give Stephen Vogt’s team.
