The Cleveland Guardians might be struggling to score runs, but the situation in their farm system is more promising.
The strength of the system is its deep and talented pool of position players.
They have a top MLB prospect in Travis Bazzana, a promising walks machine in the low minors in Jaison Chourio, and a slugging first baseman in Ralphy Velazquez.
Three additional players considered by many as future stars — C.J. Kayfus, Cooper Ingle and Angel Genao — are in the top 10 in baseball’s most accurate stat to evaluate offensive performance relative to the league average, wRC+, since the start of last season.
“The Cleveland Guardians have three players in the top 10 (wRC+) leaders since the start of the 2024 season amongst all players with at least (500+ PA) during that span. 4) C.J. Kayfus 162, 5) Cooper Ingle 160, 9) Angel Genao 151,” Guardians Prospective posted on X.

Kayfus is perhaps the most widely known name of the three.
He has done nothing but mash in the minor leagues since the start of last year.
This season, he started in Double-A and was so good there (209 wRC+ in 80 plate appearances) that the organization had no choice but to bump him to Columbus.
There, he has 11 homers, 11 doubles and four triples in 53 games, with a brilliant 150 wRC+.
He should be called up to Cleveland in a matter of weeks.
Ingle is a 23-year-old Double-A catcher who posted a 135 wRC+ last year.
He increased that output to 159 in 2025 and could be in Triple-A any day now.
Genao had a 151 wRC+ as a 20-year-old last year across two A-ball levels.
This season, he has been playing in Double-A, where he is sporting a 143 wRC+ and a .318 batting average.
For reference, the league average wRC+ is 100, so these players have been performing at an elite level in the minors.
They are part of the Guardians’ core for the next few seasons.
