At a time when the Cleveland Guardians are struggling to stay afloat, third baseman Jose Ramirez keeps producing and leading his team through thick and thin.
He has shown time and again that he is among the most underrated superstars in the game.
He keeps doing his thing even when the rest of his teammates are slumping, and he is closing in on historic baseball achievements with every game, hit, home run and stolen base.
The league’s official X site noted that he is the only active member of the 250-250 club and is getting closer to joining the exclusive 300-300 club.
“José Ramírez’s power and speed combo is rare. He’s just 32 home runs and 36 stolen bases from becoming the 9th player in MLB history to have 300 HR/300 SB!” MLB posted on X.

He entered Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Cardinals with 268 home runs and 264 stolen bases, which is already amazing to begin with.
If he continues to showcase power and speed at his current pace (he has 13 homers and 21 steals this year), then he will likely reach 300 of each next season.
Only Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Andre Dawson, Bobby Bonds, Reggie Sanders, Steve Finley, Alex Rodriguez and Carlos Beltran have hit at least 300 homers and stolen at least 300 bases.
If eight people have done it among the thousands of people who have played at the MLB level, it means it’s awfully difficult.
Ramirez, however, has no ceiling.
He is still going strong and hasn’t shown signs of decline at 32.
If he stays healthy, he should be able to join the club at 33 years old.
Not bad at all.
