Throughout the course of history, the Cleveland Guardians have taken pride in their scouting and farm system.
Like most small-market teams, they don’t usually rely on big-name free-agent signings, knowing that they have to find and develop their own stars.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to hear that one of their latest signees is dominating.
As shown by Guardians Prospective on X, switch-hitting shortstop prospect Rodny Rosario is far above his competition at the Dominican Summer League.
Cleveland #Guardians 17yr old switch-hitting (SS) prospect Rodny Rosario hit his 2nd HR of the season today a 2-run shot in the 5th inning to right field vs the Dodgers in the Dominican Summer League.
Rosario is off to a strong start to his pro-career over 12 games.

The 17-year-old infielder hit his second home run of the season.
He’s only been there for 12 games, but he’s already shown signs of greatness.
So far, he’s hitting .279 with a .456 OBP, a .512 SLG, and a .968 OPS.
He’s also logged 15 runs, 10 RBI, and has drawn 12 walks while recording five extra-base hits.
It goes without saying that he’s still a ways away from being on the team’s actual radar, but this is most definitely a strong start to his pro career.
The Guardians could certainly use some offensive punch right now, as they’ve struggled to score as few as five runs in most games this season.
That puts them in a tough spot as we continue to approach the trade deadline, and as such, some believe they’re going to offload veteran talent to keep adding prospects to the mix.
And as impressive as young players like Rosario have been, you can never have too many young options in your farm system.
