The Cleveland Guardians’ coaching staff will look different next season. That’s normal for any team, as each one goes through a similar process during the offseason.
Even so, that doesn’t mean it’s not something to watch closely. With that in mind, manager Stephen Vogt recently got honest about the Guardians’ coaching staff changes.
“Well, I mean, I think where we sit today, yeah, just like as we spoke in the [regular] season, our coaching staff was set to all come back. You know, things change. There’s 10 new managers out there. Everybody’s getting new staff, and our coaches are highly regarded, which I think is a great sign for our organization that people hold our coaches in that light. So as of right now, this is the staff that we intend to bring to Goodyear and help us march towards the World Series championship in 2026, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the group that we have,” Vogt said.

The Guardians accomplished a lot in the 2025 season. Not many people thought they would make the playoffs, given how much they struggled early in the campaign.
After a historic rally to win the AL Central, Vogt was named AL Manager of the Year for the second time in as many seasons in charge. He did an outstanding job of weathering the storm and making sure the players stayed motivated, even when they lost two pitchers to a sports gambling scandal.
Vogt is about to enter the third and final season of the three-year contract the Guardians gave him when he was hired. They will be wise to sign him to an extension, and, according to most reports, it’s only a matter of time before that happens.
The Guardians have clearly found the right guy for the job. Now, it’s all about surrounding him with the right coaching staff and the players he needs to take his team to a championship.
