The American League Silver Slugger Award recipients were announced Friday, completing the recognition of the top offensive performers across Major League Baseball.
Following Thursday’s National League selections, the American League honorees were revealed with ten individual players and one team earning the distinction. Managers and coaches vote annually to determine the winners based on offensive production at each position.
Cleveland Guardians third baseman José Ramírez claimed his sixth career Silver Slugger Award in a competitive field.
He edged out Boston’s Alex Bregman and Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero to secure the honor as the American League’s best hitting third baseman for the 2025 season.

Ramírez has now won the Silver Slugger in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2025. The switch-hitter posted 168 hits, 30 home runs, and a .283 batting average this season while providing consistent production throughout the year. His performance proved vital in helping Cleveland reach the postseason and capture the American League Central division title.
The Guardians faced uncertainty during stretches of the regular season when their playoff hopes appeared fragile. Ramírez stabilized the lineup and provided the leadership necessary to secure both objectives.
His value extended beyond individual statistics as he anchored a team that needed reliable offensive contributions. Despite his accomplishments, Ramírez still pursues two significant career achievements. He has never won a World Series championship or an MVP award.
He is currently a finalist for the 2025 MVP alongside New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge and Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh. While Judge and Raleigh are viewed as the leading contenders, Ramírez remains widely regarded as the driving force behind the Guardians’ success.
