The Cleveland Guardians have one of the best players in baseball.
Third baseman Jose Ramirez has been arguably the most consistent player in the majors for a while now.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see that he’s again a finalist for AL MVP.

This is the fourth time he’s gotten this honor, but he has yet to win the award.
The All-Star hit a team-high .283 with 30 home runs, 34 doubles, a career-best 44 stolen bases, and an OPS of .863.
He was the best player on a team that made MLB history by overcoming the largest deficit to win a division title (15.5 games behind the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central at one point).
Given the lack of offense around him, and how much the Guardians had to fight to get to the playoffs, one could argue that no player in the American League was more valuable to his team than Ramirez.
That being said, it’s hard to imagine voters will give him the nod over big-market superstar Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees or history-making Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners.
Whatever the case, Ramirez isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, so this won’t be the last time he’s one of the leading candidates to win the biggest individual award in baseball.
