The Cleveland Guardians have always taken pride in their ability to find and develop young talent, and rightfully so.
That should be the case again this season.
As shown by Guardians Insider on X, their farm system ranked among the best in ERA at their respective minor league levels:
“Akron (3rd, 3.63), Lake County (4th, 3.89), & Lynchburg (3rd, 3.76) also ranked in the top-5 in ERA in their leagues,” via GuardsInsider.
These guys got the job done 🔥

Young hurler Josh Hartle led all Guardians’ prospects in ERA, posting a 2.54 ERA.
The Guardians know they can’t keep up with the bigger markets, and sometimes, they won’t even try.
That’s why growing their talents is so crucial to what they do.
They have one of the best pitching staffs in the game, and the farm system is the gift that just keeps on giving.
Stephen Vogt has two young arms for his rotation, as Parker Messick and Joey Cantillo, both of whom proved that they could be solid long-term additions to the rotation.
They weren’t fazed by the big moments, and even though there are more than plenty of mouths to feed for the rotation, they should both make the final cut to start last season.
This team isn’t built to rake its way to a World Series.
They need to add more firepower to the offense to build from this year’s momentum and be even better next year.
Still, that’s not likely to happen, at least not if it will cost them money.
That’s why the pitching staff will continue to be such a big part of what they do, and it’s nice to see that the next generation is doing good work.
